April 24th, 2018 USA- 3D Printing is changing the way we make prosthetic limbs, aircraft parts and homes. It might also change the clothing industry. Fashion designers have revealed that they can make clothing and shoes using a 3D printer, this is done with plastic material that is placed layer by layer to create a 3D structure, for example Dutch designer Iris Van Herpen showcased a 3D printer at the last Paris Fashion Show. This does not mean that 3D printing will be replacing knitting, weaving or the usual ways of clothing manufacturing, as it is quite difficult to find material that will be soft, durable and will contour the body like most fabrics do. Some experts believe we might one day be able to purchase 3D printed clothing in store or even at... Read More
